Description: Lead-Lined Window Frames
NELCO’s versatile frames support lead glass and/or leaded acrylic. These window systems allow for viewing in areas where radiation is present in any facility in the medical, industrial, scientific, and nuclear industries.
We offer two types of hollow-metal window frames to suit most construction needs. Telescopic frames are split-jamb style and intended for use in existing construction. They are installed after the completion of the framing and drywall phases. Borrowed lite frames are one-piece style intended for use in new construction projects and are typically installed during the wall framing process.
All NELCO window frames have welded and mitered corners for a strong, continuous seal. In each frame, a uniform sheet of lead in a specified thickness is formed and permanently attached. The lead thickness must correspond to the shielding level of the wall in which they are installed. Both styles have removable stops for field glazing.
Lead-Lined Door Frames
NELCO's lead-lined hollow-metal door frames support the heavy weight of lead-lined doors while maintaining an aesthetically pleasing appearance. These doors and frames can be designed to suit various wall sizes and hardware specifications.

Hollow-metal welded frames are one-piece style and have welded, mitered, and reinforced corners for a strong, continuous seal. These welded frames are intended for use in new construction projects and are typically installed during the wall framing process.
All NELCO door frames are prime-painted and manufactured from cold-rolled steel. A uniform sheet of lead in a specified thickness is permanently fixed around the perimeter of each frame.
NELCO supports the proper handling and disposal of all lead in a safe and environmentally responsible way.
