We offer three types of RF shielding to accommodate customer needs, MRI system specifications, construction requirements, and facility locations:
1. Galvanized modular panel system – composition board panels laminated
with galvanized steel
2. Copper modular panel system – wood frames wrapped on three sides by copper
3. Soldered copper sheet system – copper sheets with soldered joints
Because an MRI shield does not involve just wall panels, we offer several site options and accessories to complete the shield. NELCO has developed high quality patient-view windows and skylights, RF shielding doors, waveguide vents, waveguides, power line and signal electrical filters, and backlit interior panels for walls and ceilings to enhance MRI shielding systems. We also specialize in upgrading existing shielded rooms to allow for new MRI units, hospital renovations, and aesthetic improvements.
NELCO has the flexibility to provide you with shielding materials only, or to act as your cost-effective, single-source solution. As a single-source provider, we coordinate all aspects of the process. We design the system, provide quality materials, install the components, and conduct final RF compliance testing.
The reliable NELCO team works closely with medical organizations and equipment manufacturers to adhere to all safety and health regulations. After the installation is complete, we conduct RF qualification and acceptance tests as well as a ground isolation test. These tests will prove that all enclosures comply with the MRI equipment manufacturers’ requirements and ASTM standards.
