 Description: NELCO manufactures and installs comprehensive P.E.T. and P.E.T. / C.T. shielding systems for a wide variety of medical units. The shielding systems consists of plywood panels laminated with lead sheets of varying thicknesses or the N-Series Nelco Interlocking Lead Brick System, based on final physics design. One of the major differences in P.E.T. shielding as compared to other types of shielding is the amount and extent of shielding required. The lead thickness for walls and ceilings can be and much as 1" (60 lbs. / sq. ft.). Heavier door systems require special consideration as well.
Depending on the owner’s needs, NELCO can simply provide materials to an independent contractor, supervise construction and installation, or provide complete turnkey services including design, construction, installation, and finish. NELCO has teams of professionals in many disciplines who will ensure that every installation is completed on time and follows rigorous adherence to safety specifications and regulatory mandates. At the completion of each installation, NELCO conducts comprehensive compliance and safety testing.
All NELCO quality-controlled materials are manufactured in our own plants located at strategic water ports on the Atlantic, Pacific, and Gulf coasts.
